Lately on my instagram account I’ve been showing a lot of scans of my personal film photography work.
Shooting digitally has massive benefits for both my clients and for me as a photographer, but there is something about shooting on a film camera that will always have my heart.
Film images have a feel and a texture that a print of digital image just doesn’t. There is nothing quite like opening the white envelope with my pictures in it. I literally get goosebumps when I hold film pictures. It gives me a nostalgic feel that I just can’t really describe in words.
I’ve decided to start doing some feature posts of my personal film work here on the blog. I think these mini features will help you get to know me and my style a little bit better. Think of it as opening my journal and getting read what’s really on my mind and what I find interesting. I also hope that they will add a little something to my blog that you might not be able to find elsewhere.
As this series goes along, I would like to add more information about film photography. I’d like to talk about different types of film, different cameras, and a bit of history. If that’s not your thing, or might actually bore you to tears, I hope you at least come back to enjoy the images I’m posting!
I’m really looking forward to sharing my images with you and I hope you enjoy these glimpses into my life. As always, if you have any questions, want to chat, or have suggestions for me, please don’t hestiate to get in touch!
