It was a perfect morning – blue skies, in the 70’s, a light breeze. I packed up my gear and drove a short distance across town to meet Jenny for a photo session. I parked my car, hopped out and met up with her on the corner.
I’m always excited for my sessions, but this one was going to be more fun than normal because the whole session was happening at the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market.
Jenny is a local food blogger who makes her digital home over at Blissfullycooking.com. I adore the stories she tells about her life there and the fact that she can weave them seamlessly into recipes that aren’t wildly difficult (if I need more than 2 bowls to make something, it’s not happening!) and yet they always sound, and look, absolutely amazing.
I met Jenny when I first moved out to LA. We met at a local run club, and re-connected a while later at a CrossFit box. It was at that point that we started grabbing coffee together to discuss blogging and business, and life in general.
Lucky for me, Jenny is up for just about anything, and when I put the idea out there for us to collaborate and do a photo session for her blog, she jumped at the opportunity. I have to say, I am SO glad she did!
I also completely lucked out because Jenny is a natural in front of the camera! She wasn’t even remotely uncomfortably or shy about being followed around a busy and crowded Farmer’s Market by a girl toting a giant camera asking her to do crazy things.
“Smell those fruits!”
“Laugh while talking with the owners!”
“Hold your coffee cup awkwardly close to your face! Nope! Closer!”
She was a dream to work with, and I think it really shows:
