More about me
I'm Kate, a photographer of motherhood and all of the love and change that it brings. Photographing your connection with your children brings me such joy, and I am so grateful that this career has chosen me.
Hi there!
After 11 years of running my photography business, a dream is finally coming true.
I’m opening a studio right here in Hightstown NJ!
Let me tell you how this happened, because honestly, it still feels a little bit like magic.
A few weeks ago, my husband and I were checking the Instagram of our local brewery Old Heights Brewing Company in Hightstown NJ to see who was playing live music that night. While scrolling, I saw they’d posted that the tenant in the small corner space down the block – right on Mercer Street in Hightstown NJ – was closing her business.
I couldn’t stop thinking about that space. After two weeks of going back and forth with myself, I finally worked up the nerve to cold email the building owner. I asked if it would be available, and if so, what the rent would be.
He emailed back immediately. The space was perfect – big enough, but not too big. The rent was exactly where I needed it to be. And here’s the really magical part: it turns out it was actually a photo studio from 2010-2016.
It felt like it was meant to be.
The large front windows face north, which means beautiful, soft natural light floods the space all day long. The main room is perfect for sessions, and the back room gives me space for my Client Closet, a cozy dressing area, and space for nursing or diaper changes.
Plus, it’s just up the block from Little Key Coffee, close to home and my son’s school, and has easy parking. Everything about this Hightstown location just… works.
My husband and I have been hard at work transforming the space. We’ve ripped up old flooring that was making things uneven, done a deep clean, patched walls, and painted. Next up: new flooring throughout to tie it all together (because right now there are four – yes, FOUR – different types of flooring happening, it’s a lot).

I’m creating a space that’s welcoming and warm – the kind of place that feels like getting a hug the moment you walk in, while still being bright, modern, and comfortable.

I’m building toward a launch with holiday mini sessions, and eventually, the studio will be home to petite newborn sessions, full newborn sessions, maternity sessions, family sessions, and minis. Down the road, I’m hoping to offer a mini session membership with multiple opportunities each quarter.
As a Hightstown NJ photographer, I’m so excited to have a dedicated space where families can come for beautiful natural light portraits – whether you’re welcoming a newborn, celebrating a growing family, or documenting your maternity journey.
But for now? I’m taking it one step at a time, testing out the space, and sharing the behind-the-scenes journey here on the blog and through my email list.
