Newborns

You're awake at all hours of the day and night trying to guess what each little cry and sound mean, and making what feels like a million life altering decisions.

All while desperately trying to memorize every single detail about your baby - their tiny little feet, how perfect their nose is, and how their whole hand barely fits around your finger.

THOSE FIRST DAYS AND WEEKS WITH A NEWBORN ARE INCREDIBLE, EXHAUSTING, AND SO, SO FLEETING.

oh, baby...

YOU CAN'T KEEP YOUR SWEET BABY THIS LITTLE FOR LONG, but YOU         HAVE THOSE MEMORIES TO HOLD IN YOUR HANDS

While you can't keep your sweet baby this little for long, you       have those memories to hold in your hands

can

Forever.

The images are stunning and Kate is a delightful person to work with as well as a very talented photographer. She listened to what we wanted and didn't want and was so sweet with our little one. We will definitely call Kate for our future photography needs!

"My husband and I were on the fence about doing a newborn photo session but Kate came very highly recommended so we went for it and we are so glad we did!

About 8 weeks after your Viewing & Ordering appointment, I will be in touch to let you know that your custom artwork has arrived. At this time we will select a date either for me to delivery your products or for you to pick them up. I can't wait to see how much you love what you have selected for your home, your family, and your legacy!

Once your session is reserved we will have your Session Styling & Planning Appointment. At this appointment we'll select and wardrobe for you and your children, and discuss what your partner will wear. We will also discuss the location and select the perfect one to fit your vision and my photography style. How early should we book?

It is best to begin the inquiry process towards the beginning of your second trimester. Newborns arrive on their own schedules and sessions can take a bit longer than a typical portrait session (to accommodate the need for feeding, diaper changes, etc) so I only take a limited number per month to ensure I am available for you.

What should we wear?

After booking I will send you my extensive Welcome Guide which will go in detail about what to wear. You will also receive access to a Pinterest board of  wardrobe inspiration and I am more than happy to help you with final selections! In general, light or neutral solids photograph best, and I always recommend new moms wear a dress for comfort - especially if you've had a c-section.

When should we have the session?

Many of my clients are looking for those sweet, sleepy images of their new baby. The best age for these types of images is between 5-10 days which allows you time to get home and settled. If you are looking for more images where your baby is awake and alert, between 4-6 weeks is the best age.

What if my baby arrives EarlY?

Not a problem at all - this is why I only accept a limited amount of newborn sessions per month. Contact me when you are home and settled and we will select a date that works best for your session.

What if my baby is older than 5-10 days when we have our session?

Also not a problem at all! I have done plenty of newborn sessions outside of the 5-10 day range with absolutely beautiful results. I wasn't able take my own son's newborn photos until he was 5 weeks old due to a NICU stay, so I completely understand. Just let me know when you are home and settled and we'll plan your session date.
