Kate Voda Photography Has Moved

The following letter went out to all of my amazing clients today and I wanted to share it with you here on the blog. As a way to thank you all for your love and support, and as a way to officially launch my business here in my new home of New Jersey

First of all, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for being a member of the Kate Voda Photography Family. 

Ok. Here goes one of the hardest emails I’ve had to write. 

I’ve poured my heart and soul into every aspect of this business and it means so much to have had your support over the years.  2020 and 2021 brought so many changes to everyone, and my family was no different. As many of you may know, in July of 2020 my husband and I found out that we were expecting our first child in the midst of this global pandemic. In September of 2020 we found out that our sweet boy has Trisomy 21 – also known as Down syndrome – and multiple cardiac complications. We were told that he would need open-heart surgery before he was a year old and would most likely require a NICU stay at birth. 

It was a lot to take in on top of everything else that was happening in the world. My husband and I were forced to take a hard look at our lives and what we wanted and needed for our son. We made the decision to move back to the East Coast – New Jersey to be specific – so that we could be closer to family and get the best possible care for our baby. 

While it was an impossibly hard decision, we are SO happy that we chose to move. Augie had his surgery at the end of this past July at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and let me tell you – the stars aligned and we had the absolute best team of professionals caring for him, and an army of people praying for him. He recovered like a champ and you would never know everything he went through. He is an amazing little miracle and we love him so fiercely. 

So, here we are. Settled with our little boy in New Jersey. 2,766.6 miles away from all of you in California. 2,766.6 miles away from families who I have been photographing and watching grow for years. 2,766.6 miles away from clients who have become friends, and who went above and beyond to help and care for my husband and I while Augie was in the NICU.

There are no words to thank you all for your love and support over the years. I will miss you all so, so much. You have all truly become part of the KVP Family.

I know family photos are so important and are such a big tradition for many of you. I don’t want you to be stranded, and I want to continue to help and serve you as best I can. Here is the information for a few fellow photographers who I more than trust to take care of you in my place!
