This Princeton NJ lifestyle newborn session not only was one of the most relaxed newborn sessions I’ve ever photographed, but it also had a surprise family connection.
When Jenna first contacted me about photographing her daughter’s newborn session, I noticed that her phone number had the same area code as my husband’s. I asked her if she was from New York on our consult call, and discovered that she was not only from the same town as my husband, but that he and her brothers had all been on the same soccer team when they were younger!
I honestly think that even without that connection, it would have felt just as much like walking into the home of old friends. Jenna and Warren are two of the kindest and most welcoming people I have ever met and I knew instantly that this session was going to be pure magic.
When we were discussing Jenna’s vision for her newborn session, we talked about her style, and her likes and dislikes, and agreed (luckily!) that a Princeton NJ lifestyle newborn session would be the best fit.
I prefer lifestyle newborn sessions over posed newborn sessions because I find so much inspiration in photographing the love, connection, and awe of parents with their new babies. Having parents hold and snuggle their baby makes both the baby and the parents feel more comfortable and at ease during the session, and this translates to beautiful, relaxed images. I am also a huge advocate for newborn safety during photo sessions, and lifestyle sessions tend to be safer as the baby is allowed to position themselves as a baby naturally would, and usually spends the majority of the session warm and cozy in their parents’ arms.
Jenna chose to use 2 dresses from my Client Wardrobe for this Princeton NJ lifestyle newborn session which looked absolutely beautiful on her and also complemented their home’s decor perfectly.
My goal is to create images that will look beautiful and timeless, and become artwork that decorates the walls of my clients’ homes for years to come. Helping my clients to select the right wardrobe for their session is key to creating custom artwork that fits their vision and their home.
During this stunning Princeton NJ lifestyle newborn session, we photographed in both the primary bedroom and the nursery. I loved photographing in both of these rooms because of the large windows which let in beautiful light. We very quickly fell into a comfortable rhythm photographing and were able to move through many different poses and setups. Even with the expected breaks for feeding and snuggling, this session felt so relaxed and enjoyable. Their sweet little girl slept through most of the session, waking up only a few times to eat and smile at us.
This session was truly a joy to photograph and I am so grateful that Jenna and Warren chose me to capture their daughter’s newborn photos! Working with them was so effortless and I hope to work with them for years to come!
