More about me
I'm Kate, a photographer of motherhood and all of the love and change that it brings. Photographing your connection with your children brings me such joy, and I am so grateful that this career has chosen me.
Hi there!
Jill and Jane recently met me at the studio for a motherhood session. Sweet little Jane was 9 months old and loved crawling and scooting all around the studio. It was while she was showing us her skills that we started talking about just how quickly time really does go by. The quote “the days are long but the years are short” may feel very cliche, but it couldn’t be truer.
I’m sure so many mothers would agree that there are some (or many!) days that feel like they will never end. Then you blink your eyes and your tiny little newborn has started crawling or talking, and you can’t believe how fast it happened. It can be so hard to slow down and enjoy those moments when you are in the thick of things – and that’s where a motherhood session comes in
A motherhood session is a perfect way to capture those milestones and moments, and your incredible role in helping them happen. Mothers spend so much of their day focusing on all of the things – their family, their work, their communities, just to name a few. A motherhood session is a beautiful opportunity to pause for a little while and take a moment to celebrate what you as a mother have accomplished, and what your children have accomplished.
I love having the opportunity to photograph a motherhood session. Watching Jill and Jane snuggle, giggle and enjoy dedicated time to spend together with no other distractions was such a joy. Jill knew all the ways to make Jane smile and laugh, and the way Jane looked at her mother while she giggled and cuddled with her was pure magic.
My hope is that they will enjoy these images for years to come and when they look back on them, they will remember an afternoon that was set aside for the two of them to celebrate their bond.
If you are looking for a motherhood session in New Jersey I would love to connect with you! You can find more information about my Signature Motherhood Sessions here.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing the work of some fellow photographers to help inspire and educate you. This week head over and visit Steph Honikel, an incredible Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer as she shares some beautiful newborn photography and discusses cloth diapers vs. disposable diapers!
